Product description: Daryl was an amazing magician, he was very famous for his magic and also for his various incredible creations, including his ending for the ambitious card routine, where you place a rope around the deck, place the signed card inside the middle of the deck, clearly inside, and with a snap, the card rises back on top without any fumbling or manipulation! I promise, it’s as clean as that, and the handling with the case instead of the rope is worth the price of this alone I think. Let’s find out if this is for you!
Price and where to buy it: This is sold at $39.95 and you can find it in nearly every Murphy's magic partner !
What you get: You get a very nice black hardback box, with the name of the trick printed in metallic silver ink, it’s really beautiful I think. Inside, you’ll find the link in order for you to watch the explanation which is the basic explanation from Daryl, his full ambitious card routine and an input from Greg Wilson, over an hour long instructional video. You get several handling of the gimmick, I really like the one with the box of cards rather than the rope, it’s more organic and you don’t have to carry around a piece of rope but it’s less impressive. Overall, the gimmicks are really well made and the video is full of very good tips so I’m not disappointed at all with this product.
The pros and the cons: Here is the core of my review, let's begin with the cons, as I will usually be doing, I prefer to keep the good things for the end.
THE CONS:
You have to carry the gimmick (+ the rope if you want to do the exact same routine) and bring it in during the course of the routine (or having it since the beginning which will limitate your routine.
This will allow you to do only a single trick, a strong one, but it’s pretty much all you can do with it.
THE PROS:
I think this is really a perfect way to end your ambitious card routine, there is nothing stronger than putting the rope around the deck so you can’t manipulate anything and having the card rise back on the top.
The handling with the card box is really cool, it made me think about a mix between the Extractor 2.0 and an ambitious card. It’s really strong and allow you to have nothing but the gimmick and the card box.
The gimmick is only half a deck of cards thick so you have half of the cards which are normal, so you can still do some moves from your ambitious card routine with the gimmick in the deck but you’re a bit limited.
The gimmick is really well made, it comes ready out of the box and you don’t have anything else to do, just add 26 cards and you’re good to go!
Overall rating: I think it’s very good that you can get this trick again, the inputs form Greg Wilson add some fresh ideas and the gimmick is really well made, I don’t think I’ll carry this around but it’s good and if you like what you see, you won’t be disappointed, 3/4 hearts.
As for the difficulty level, it’s pretty much self working but you have to handle the deck with the gimmick inside, I’d say 2/5 stars.
Similar products: Extractor 2.0 is the closest thing to this I can think of, but the aim of the gimmick is not the same.
