Product description: Close-Up magic for children is something quite difficult to find these days. Wonder Pop is a classic routine with a little twist at the end, the idea is simple, you take a thing to make bubble (I didn’t find the exact word in English, I don’t know it in French neither), you blow a bubble, and then make it real by taking it between your fingers! Plug this little transparent bubble on a lolly stick and shake it to transform it into a lollipop. It’s a very cool routine, but is it worth the asked price? Let’s find out!
Price and where to buy it: This is sold at $39.95 and you can find it in nearly every Murphy's magic partner !
What you get: You get a cardboard box, with inside the item to make bubble which has been specially modified so you can perform the routine with it. You also get the little transparent ball and a small silk. My unit was in quite a good shape but I have some friends who bought it and their unit was horrible, broken, very cheaply made. So you may want to check your unit before using it. You also get a link in order to watch the explanation video, which is well made. I think the routine is very easy to understand and to do! If your unit is fine, the trick is really cool and children will enjoy it. You have to provide your own bubble liquid but overall, this is a nice little trick.
The pros and the cons: Here is the core of my review, let's begin with the cons, as I will usually be doing, I prefer to keep the good things for the end.
THE CONS:
As I said, I saw a lot of faulty units, so I may have been lucky with mine. Be careful.
THE PROS:
I like a lot Close-Up magic for children, but this will play very well for children AND adults alike, so it’s perfect.
The idea of producing a transparent ball as a bubble is not new but the ending by transforming it into a lollipop is very clever.
You can hand out the lollipop at the end, so it’s a trick and a gift for children, they have to love this one. Of course, you’ll need several lollipops if you want to perform it and then give it at the end each time.
The item with which you produce the bubble has been modified so you can show your both hands empty at the beginning of the routine.
Overall rating: If all unit was like mine, I think this would be a no brainer for many close-up magician. Knowing that some are faulty, I advice you to check with the seller before buying it, so I’ll give it 3/4 hearts.
As for the difficulty level, It’s really easy to do, the production of the bubble and the transformation into a lollipop, 2/5 stars.
