Product description: Postman is a new multiple out envelope which is very interesting because it combines several principle so you can reveal up to 48 outs with what’s included in the package. You can put almost anything you want inside, business card, playing card, bill, note etc.. Disguised as a regular postal envelope, this is more a utility device rather than a trick in itself. Is this for you? Let’s find out!
Price and where to buy it: This is sold at $39.95 and you can find it in nearly every Murphy's magic partner !
What you get: You get a very nice, hard cardboard box, the packaging on this has been thought of, it’s really cool. Inside, you’ll get 2 gimmicks, 8 gaffed envelopes as well as a link for you to watch the explanation video. The video is well made and there are 6 routines taught in it. But I think if you buy Postman, you already have an idea what to use it for. It’s still cool that they provide ideas so you can start thinking about how you can use the envelopes. The envelopes are really well made and if you take care of them, I can see them lasting a long time. Overall, I’m quite surprised with this trick, the working is clever, the envelopes are nice, I like it!
The pros and the cons: Here is the core of my review, let's begin with the cons, as I will usually be doing, I prefer to keep the good things for the end.
THE CONS:
You can put anything quite thick in the envelope, you need the item to be quite flat.
You can show the inside of the envelope to prove it’s empty. You can just shake it open to show nothing else is falling.
If you want to reveal 48 outs, you’ll need to carry more than one envelope with you.
THE PROS:
The envelopes are really well made, they are made out of quite thick paper and they should last a long time.
The working is very clever and relies on mechanical principle, so there are no magnets or thread in play here.
I think one envelope is enough, do a routine like “Inferno” and you’ll be able to reveal more things with it. Or do it with banknotes, which is very interesting too.
I think the convincer of opening the envelope, letting one item fall down and showing nothing else is falling, is enough for people to believe the envelope is empty.
You get 8 envelopes so you can replace one if it’s worn out, with the price, it’s less than 5$ per envelope.
Overall rating: If you’re looking for multiple outs envelope and that you like the look of the one provided in Postman, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with it. It’s a solid release but I have no use for it, 3/4 hearts.
As for the difficulty level, if you know how to pull out an item from an envelope, you should be fine, 1/5 stars.
Similar products: Switch-A-Lope is another good product, which has less outs and is more usable in a stage situation.
