Product description: Guys, I know you know and/or are using some Svengali Pads, they’ve been a standard in many magician’s show! Today, I’m going to present you a new application for this famous principle which I find both very ingenious and deadly easy to do. The idea is to have a license plate generator with Svengali pad, so each person can come, open up the sheets and one person after the other, they will create a “random” license plate. You have an envelope in view since the beginning and inside, there is a real plate with exactly the same letters and numbers they generate! It’s crazy. I love this trick, and I will tell you why in this review!

What you get: You get a brown cardboard box, with inside everything you need to perform the trick. You get a metallic 3D pressed license plate which is not a real one but looks very realistic! You also get the pad with all the sheets cut down and perfectly printed, you can feel the time and effort the creator put into this, it really is a nice bit of kit. You get a link so you can watch the explanation video online, it’s well done and to the point but the trick is pretty self explanatory. Overall, it’s not expensive in my opinion because the material provided is really well made and the routine is amazing. I’m really happy with this one.
The pros and the cons: Here is the core of my review, let's begin with the cons, as I will usually be doing, I prefer to keep the good things for the end.
THE CONS:
The outcome will always be the same, it’s a general con with most Svengali products. But you can buy another “country version” of the License Plate Prediction and include it in your show with the proper presentation so you will have 2 different outcomes.
It’s a bit big for Close Up work, this is mostly dedicated to parlor or stage workers.
THE PROS:
I read my last con and I know many close up workers who want to have a 5 minutes cabaret act and this would be perfect, since it’s very easy to do, you can fully concentrate on your presentation.
The magician does not touch the props once they’re set so it looks all clean and fair.
I love the reveal, it’s not common but most people can relate to it because it’s something they know and that they’ve seen before.
I think putting this as a guideline during your stage show would be a great idea! Present it at the beginning and say that each person that will come on stage will randomly flip a number or a letter so that at the end, all participant will have created a random License Plate.
I think this has many applications possible, you could do it throughout your show and at the end, make a car appear with the correct license plate on it.
What I love also is that this is Open Source! So you can download all the files and make it yourself if you want to. I like that sharing vibes to this project.
Overall rating: I think this is the cleverest application of the Svengali Pad I’ve seen in a while, it’s clear, direct and hard hitting, I will definitely put this into my show ! 4/4 hearts.
As for the difficulty level, it’s self working, focus fully on your presentation, 1/5 stars.
