Review : Klik by Agus Tjiu

Product description: Tricks with the spectator cell phone are way more powerful than the ones which are using your own cell phone. Klik took that idea and allows you to perform a transformation routine using only one single gaffed card and the spectator phone. Imagine they select a card, the 2 of spades, you lose it in the deck and you pull off the wrong card, the 3 of spades. You ask them to take the card so you can take a picture of them with it. When they look at the photo, the 3 has become a 2, one pip has vanished and when you turn the card they have been holding, it’s now a real 2 of spades. Is it worth the asked price ? Let’s find out.

Price and where to buy it: This is sold at $29.95 and you can find it in nearly every Murphy's magic partner !

What you get: You get a plastic ziplock bag, not the best packaging I have seen, inside a printed cardboard sheet. You have an envelope with the link for the explanation video on it, the video is well shot and to the point, they take time to explain you how to take a good picture with the klik gaff. You’re provided with 2 gaff cards, one is a 3/2 of spades and the other is a 8/6 of clubs. They’re very well made, you can order them in both red and blue. Overall, it’s quite cheap and the gaff cards work well if you take the time to learn how to properly take the picture.

The pros and the cons: Here is the core of my review, let's begin with the cons, as I will usually be doing, I prefer to keep the good things for the end.

THE CONS:

  • You have to take the picture from quite far away, it involves audience management so people don’t look at the card (but even if they do, I don’t think they will find anything).

  • You’re limited to those 2 cards : 2 of spades and 6 of clubs.

THE PROS:

  • I really like the gaff, they’re well made and you could put them in the cellophane of your case so you’re always ready to go.

  • I always like to use the spectator phone rather than mine, it feels more organic, less gimmicked.

  • You can leave a very strong impression on people because it’s their picture on their phone, you can then ask to put it on your Facebook or Instagram, it’s quite powerful in terms of marketing.

  • The reset is instant, you don’t have to do anything, just place the gaff card back into the pack and you’re fine !

  • It’s very easy to do, if you know how to force a card, you should be good with Klik.

Overall rating: Overall, this is a very good effect in my opinion which leaves a strong souvenir on the spectator’s phone. But I won’t add this gaff card to my regular deck, 3/4 hearts.

As for the difficulty level, a force is the only sleight you need to know, you will learn how to correctly take the picture with Klik, 2/5 stars.
