Review : Absolute Zero by Sansminds

Product description : Well, this is my first Sansminds product in a long time, I decided to stop purchasing and reviewing them because of how they treated their customers (fake and edited trailers, shitty product etc..). However, the Sansminds Pro serie seems to be the only good releases from them. The ring box was cool. So I got this, the ad claims you can instantly freeze a coin by blowing on it. Can you really achieve that ? Let's find out !

Price and where to buy it : This is sold at $85 and you can find it in nearly every Murphy's magic « partner » shop !

What you get : The packaging is very nice, a very sturdy box with the name and logo of the trick printed in silver ink, very nicely made. Inside, you'll find the link for the explanation video, it's great and nearly everything is taught in details. However, one MAJOR thing was, in my opinion, not enough explained and without it, you can't make the trick work ! So this will be a big con for me. You receive the gimmick, it has been custom made, you can tell. It looks and feels great, small enough to be hidden in your hands, and works (when you get it right) well. You also get a tool which wasn't mentionned a lot in the download, which will make all the difference if you want your Absolute Zero to work. You also get 2 adaptaters so you can use any can in the world. I'm happy with what I received, everything feels quality and I don't think you can be disappointed by it.

The pros and the cons : Here is the core of my review, let's begin with the cons, as I will usually be doing, I prefer to keep the good things for the end.

THE CONS :

  • As I said, the explanation video didn't cover everything in depth. They miss a big point which can make your gimmick work or not ! I think this is a big lack from them, very disappointed.

  • You have to be careful about your working condition, the temperature can change the way the coin will react.

  • The gimmick makes a little bit of noise, which shouldn't be heared in normal conditions but still, it's not silent.

THE PROS :

  • This gimmick allows you to do Adam Grace effect called Frozen (but which required a prior setup and wasn't easy to do again and again). And I must say, when you do the work which isn't mentionned in the explanations, that the gimmick works and works well.

  • You have to chose carefully which “material” you will put inside your gimmick, some brand won't work. The only advice I can give is to put your can upside down and activate it. If the thing which comes out is liquid, then the can should work.

  • The trick is very visual and close to super hero power, you can freeze a coin just by blowing on it.

  • The coin can be signed, I think the choregraphy of the routine is good enough to hide the crucial moment.

  • You can adapt the gimmick with a pull for example to make everything a little bit cleaner.

  • The coin can be signed, you're not limited to a coin but I think it's better to use one, it's something you can easily borrow without any problem.

  • However, you can't freeze any amount of water, don't get caught by the “misleading” trailer.

  • Reset is instant and you can do 5 to 6 coins with a filled gimmick. I've let the “juice” inside the gimmick for a few days and there is no depresurisation or anything.

Overall rating : I'm pretty happy with it, it works and does the job, it's ingenious and the reset is instant, the only drawback for me is that it makes a little bit of noise, 3/4 hearts.

As for the difficulty level, you have to work on your choregraphy and on the routine but except that, it's fairly easy to do, 2/5 stars.

Similar products : Frozen by Adam Grace, similar trick but harder setup and not easy to perform.
