Product description : Looking for a very visual piece of magic, which is both easy to do and very pratical ? Look no further, this is the thing you have to buy ! A spectator selects a card, he signs it and then a yellow sticker is stuck on the back of this card. The card is then lost back into the pack. You show the back of a prediction card, but this one doesn't have any sticker on it. With a wave, a red sticker appears on the back of the card, still no good because the colour of the sticker doesn't match, with a flick, you can cause the sticker to change colour ! When the card is turned over, it's the signed one !
Price and where to buy it : This is sold at $34.95 and you can get from any partner of Murphy's Magic !
What you get : You get a very thin DVD case, with inside, the DVD in both French and English with a lot of routines and ways of making the stickers appear and change colour. You also get 2 gimmicks, one with a small sticker and one with a bigger one. They are really well made and I can see them lasting a long time. You also get some stickers which have some really nice properties : you can stick and unstick them almost forever, without them wearing out. If they wear out, you wash them with water ! There is a lot of stuff supplied and I love that !
The pros and the cons : Here is the core of my review, let's begin with the cons, as I will usually be doing, I prefer to keep the good things for the end.
THE CONS :
Even though the gimmicks are well made, I think you will have to take care of them because they can break.
You have to go back to the deck to show the signed card, not a con for me but I know some people don't like this.
THE PROS :
It's very very visual ! The appearance of the sticker looks really like cgi ! And the colour changing part happens very quickly, in a flash, you get 2 wow moments in less than 10 seconds.
I appreciate the fact David Stone put time and efforts explaining it was not his effect but an effect from Sandy, a French magician. But after years of doing it, he brought new routines and new ways of handling the gimmick, which is, in my opinion, why this is so good. You can have a good gimmick, without good routines.
You get a lot of stuff in the DVD, loads of routines and there is clearly work behind it. The routines are good, the gimmicks are great, you really can't go wrong with it !
The stickers which are reusable is a very good idea, you can do the routine and directly unstick the sticker at the end to reuse it ! I usually keep mine on my box, I do like the fact I don't have to deal with it in my deck if I don't want to.
The gimmick is only 1 card thick, it's easy to ditch, easy to put in the cellophane of your box if you don't want to use it.
Easy to do, easy to reset, no bad angles.. I can't say anything really bad about it.
Overall rating : Didn't think I would like this that much but hey, it's a worker. 4/4 hearts for me.
As for the difficulty level, double lift and control should be fine, you have to learn how to handle the gimmick but nothing hard, 2/5 stars.
Similar products : Errr.. I don't know any trick which would make a sticker appear and change color on a card.
