Product description : This is the version 2.0 of the famous trick “Cut” by Ran Pink, which, in my opinion, one the closest trick to “real” magic. The first version was cool but they were some drawbacks, mainly that it was not that easy to apply. Now comes version 2.0 which is way cooler, you get more gimmicks and you can do so much more than just restoring your skin ! But let's talk about this little baby right now.
Price and where to buy it : This is sold at $59.95 and you can find it in nearly every Murphy's partner shop !
What you get : You get a very nice little cardboard box with inside, 2 separate pens, a black and a red one as well as written instructions. I do like to have a little piece of paper to get started with the trick instead of having to go download the video right after having opened the box. You do also get a download which explains you how to use your gimmick and ideas with it. It's very well produced and the whole thing is very good, satisfied !
The pros and the cons : Here is the core of my review, let's begin with the cons, as I will usually be doing, I prefer to keep the good things for the end.
THE CONS :
It's something you have to play with to get it right. You won't have a perfect cut at the first few times. It's WAY more easier to apply than with the previous one but still, you have to see how is your skin reacting to apply the correct amount. (little tip : I do apply the black with a tooth pick or with the border of a card)
THE PROS :
You get way more gimmick than with the previous one which is a good thing since you will have to experiment a little bit before finding the sweet point.
You're not limited to the cut your skin and restore it effect ! You can do pretty much all the effects from “Pink” by the same creator and I can tell you that making sunglasses appear on the head of the president on a bill is priceless.
The reactions you get from the Cut and Restore your skins are amazing, it looks like a camera trick and this is why I love so much this gimmick, because of the visual of it. And people will come to you after to ask how you did that kind of sorcery ! It's really sick.
Since the 2 colors are now divided into 2 separate pens, you can just use the red one or the black one alone and freak people out ! You could adapt your presentation to do some kind of voodoo or making writing appears.
You can do a dual reality routine with a bill and the black pen which, in my opinion, amazing, it was one the best routine from Pink and you can do it with Cut 2.0 !
Overall rating : I won't be doing the cut effect but I'm definitely gonna use the black pen to make writing appears, morph and change. Definately worth checking it out ! 3.5/4 hearts
As for the difficulty level, the cut effect will require a little bit of pratice but nothing hard, 3/5 stars.
Similar products : You can check Frixion Pen if you want to achieve kind of the same result but Cut is better in my opinion because it doesn't require any lighter or candle for the heat.
