What you get : The packaging is very nice, a small cardboard box with inside : link to watch the instructions online. Those are well made and everything is easily understandable, they do teach you how to repair one part of your gimmick if it breaks. You are also supplied with stuff to repair your gimmick and of course, the gimmick. It is all built up so you can use it directly out of the box. The gimmick is very well made and I can't think how much time it take for one to be made. I really liked what I received !
The pros and the cons : Here is the core of my review, let's begin with the cons, as I will usually be doing, I prefer to keep the good things for the end.
THE CONS :
The price is high but considering each gimmick has been made up by hand and you don't have any art and craft to do, I think the price is fair.
Since the gimmick is a real gum pack, it is made out of cardboard and I'm worried about the longevity of it.. Will it last or, as with every gum box, will it be ripped in about one month of use. Mine still holds up very well, time will tell.
Box can't be handed out.
THE PROS :
As I said, no art and craft needed ! I know a lot of you are tired of receiving a piece of thread or latex, a magnet and then the creator tells you « please take your time for making the gimmick, the construction time is around 7 hours ! ». I'm joking but sometimes, the gimmick is really hard to make and in this case, I'm very happy the took the time to make it, not a lot of people would have made it. Kudos to Undermagic and Victor Sanz !
The routine is very powerful and logical, each phase is stronger than the previous one and at the end, all makes sense.
It uses common object such as a gum box, people can relate to it and maybe be less scared about a gimmicked thing. (And the box is heavily gimmicked)
The whole thing is self contained. Meaning you only need to carry the box and you're ready to do the trick, no extra thing to add, that's very cool !
It gets great reactions ! People don't know what to expect and the visuals of the routine are insane ! I really got amazing reactions with this one.
Overall rating : A self contained gimmick which allows you to do a multi phase routine with an organic object ? I like this very much, not sure about carrying the box since I'm worried it would get damaged (or find a metallic box to protect it) but Red Mint is a very cool trick, you won't be disappointed with it, 3.5/4 hearts.
As for the difficulty level, you will have to get the knack for it and to experiment with the gimmick to be able to do the routine smoothly, 2/5 stars.
