What you get : You get a small cardboard box with inside, the special gimmicked pad. It is an A7 format notepad, Rhodia brand. It is small enough to fit in your pocket but still big enough so they can write nearly anything they want on it. The impression is very clear, you can read numbers, words, drawings, anything ! You are also supplied with a gimmicked pen as well as another gimmick if you want to use a Sharpie pen. And of course, a DVD with handlings, ways of refilling the pad, how to get the peek. They are 2 routines taught : One is kind of a ACAAN using a stack and the other one is a magic square. Explanations are very well made and they are crystal clear. Very happy with the whole thing, it looks sturdy, it feels quality !
The pros and the cons : Here is the core of my review, let's begin with the cons, as I will usually be doing, I prefer to keep the good things for the end.
THE CONS :
Errrr.. Maybe the price could be a con but when you see all the work that went into it, it's not that expensive.
THE PROS :
Finally a pad that is small enough to fit in your pocket. Forget the big and bulky Nomad Pad 2.0, this A7 format is the best. Yet, it is big enough so they write numbers, drawings and you still get a clear peek.
What a nice transition, let's talk about the peek. It is very natural and done in a blink of an eye, just while opening the pad, you will get the peek. There are several ways of going it explained in the DVD and you could use some to do instant stooging.
The reset is quick and easy, directly built in the pad. This is very cool because it will work the same way everytime, not like in other pad where the reset will differ from time to time.
The pad can be refilled with sheets of paper you can find in the supermarket or on the internet. I just bought 10 pads for 20€ so refills are inexpensive.
The DVD is well done and they do get through a lot informations and details about the pad and the workings.
I would put the price as a pro since it is one of the cheapest pad on the market, considering you get the clearest impression, it is a very fair price.
Overall rating : This is the pad you need ! After having used most of the pads on the market, this is the one which will be with me everytime I go out, I'm confident enough to do the peek, which wasn't the case with other pad. 4/4 hearts and a big recommandation from me !
As for the difficulty level, nothing hard with it, you will have to do the move for the peek a few times so it gets natural, 2/5 stars.
Similar products : There are a lot of products that can achieve the same thing but trust me, the Hpad will replace all the impression pads on the market. Maybe go over Paralab to see some good products too.
